โรงเรียนแสงโสมมองเห็นความสำคัญของการเรียนภาษาอังกฤษที่ต้องมุ่งเน้นการฝึกการพูด การฟัง การอ่าน และการเขียน ดังนั้น นักเรียนจึงได้เรียนภาษาอังกฤษทุกวันผ่านกิจกรรมและสื่อการสอนที่ทันสมัยต่างๆ โดยการสอนของครูฟิลิปปินส์ที่คัดสรรเฉพาะที่มีสำเนียงดีเยี่ยมและมีเทคนิคการสอนที่ดี มีความเป็นครูสูง โดยมีครูไทยสอนแกรมมาร์และช่วยในห้องเรียน นอกจากนั้นยังมีครูอเมริกันฝึกการสนทนาให้นักเรียนด้วย

โรงเรียนใช้หลักการอ่านโดยเน้นด้าน Phonic ยกตัวอย่าง เช่น

Period 1

1. Sing ALPHABET (A,B,C,D,E,F,G....) song , NUMBERIC (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) song

2. Practice phonics and conversation.
   “ What’s your name?”
   “ My name is ……… .”
   (Then the teacher adapts the above conversation into the song.)

3. Students practice to talk or sing in pairs.

4. Teach students about capital and small letters. Let them write on the blackboard and pronounce letters and phonics. ( a เอ say แอ๊ะ )

5. Teach phonics of each alphabet everyday. Let the student practice individually.

6. Practice reading in phonic style. The students should match the pictures and the words and pronounce the word correctly.
